The best of Philippines

September 4th, 2011
Photobucket

I traveled to the Philippines 3 weeks in July and August 2011. Attention angry public is invited chilling report of this beautiful country. Rice Terraces, jeepney, yard basketball, uncompromising haircut and street thugs.

Brutal man resting after a hard day in the mountain village of Sagada. This cozy place does not want to leave, but the unrelenting debt traveler called me forward.

A woman admires her baby in the ancient Spanish city of Vigan. It is best preserved in Asia Spanish architecture. In Wigan I had a great hotel with a rosette, fan and wai-FEMA, which is necessary for happiness? I was just a little long for Europe, but here such an unexpected bonus.

Photobucket

This is not a gladiatorial chariots, this Tricycle. The Philippine version of how to convert a motorcycle on public transport. Each Tricycle TUNING owner and lovingly decorated pretentious slogans such as No Fear, Las Vegas Express or Merciless.

Photobucket

Coaches with the Ravens Ryskov in Vigan. This is not a tourist attraction, and public transport in the historic center of the city. Which, by the way, is listed by UNESCO. And generally, in Vigan is the oldest preserved church in South-East Asia. Maybe that’s true, but when it’s someone cared in the preparation of tourist brochures?

Something long ago I did not ask, “What are you filming?” So, I made this photograph on Nastin Cannon 500d with lens Tamron 17-50, f2, 8. Feel the difference. I do not really feel it.

Photobucket

Serious man flatly refused to look into the lens. Taken on 8.08.2011 in Sagada, Northern Luzon, Philippines, Asia.

Secret factory packaging heroin in the north of the Philippines.

About the crime in the Philippines. In the Southeast Asian community bekpekerskom Philippines are considered quite unsafe direction. In Manila, it is really felt.
In Banaue with my fellow traveler we met Nastya elderly Dutch sex-tourist Aaron, and he told us his sad story.
The Dutchman went to Manila in search of luxury damsels, and one still lured him. Invited to drink coffee, Aaron happily agreed. After the coffee, he longed to sleep, and he woke up a week later with empty bank accounts. Aaron week drugged and driven around in a minivan on the North Island of Luzon. Every day it was brought to ATMs and withdraw money from the cards, since he was a limit on daily withdrawals. Money in the accounts was a lot, but almost nothing left. Between times Dutchman photographed on his own camera on the background of all kinds of attractions. Evidently, in order to create for others the illusion that it is a white Mr. traveling with his Filipino friends. All of these events he remembers very vague. A week later, Aaron found himself in Banaue, there came a little to himself, and got to Manila on the same bus with us. In Manila, for him to come to the hostel and recorded the testimony of a police officer. It is doubtful that the police will be able to find the criminals, the photos they do not, for obvious reasons.
Here’s a story, it’s good that the Dutchman was still alive and sane.

Very cute children in all its crushing power.

Photobucket

Ripped me a lesson in secondary schools Sagadskoy number 1. Studies conducted in English.
American movies are shown in Philippine theaters in the original language without subtitles. And nobody grumbles.

Photobucket

Rice terraces in Sagada.

Photobucket

Bontoc, collected rice is dried in the sun.

Photobucket

Unpretentious men’s haircut costs 49 Philippine pesos, that is a dollar. I could not afford it.

Photobucket

Hard grandfather in the national costume of ethnic minorities in Bontoc. He did not want to be photographed, so I took it off quickly. Well, almost.

Photobucket

This jeepney, enchanting public transport with unlimited capacity. Most adrenal places – on the roof. Once we found out there that can drive already climbed down from the roof is not. This method of movement perfectly uplifting and improves blood circulation.

Photobucket

– Pass for travel, do not be shy! – So, it seems, is spoken at home. I have completely forgotten the realities of Kiev, I see everything in pink light.

Photobucket

About harvesters here and do not dream. Crop is harvested, transported and sorted by hand.

Photobucket

At that Filipinos rarely lose heart. This nation has made me a very good impression. They do not ovoschizma inherent Laotians and Khmers. Filipinos are fun, bold, respect yourself and friendly, but without much excitement belong to travelers.

Photobucket
This is also a hidden recording.

Photobucket

This machine of Bontoc in Bunaue was to go at 11:30, but we had to wait for her departure to three hours of the day. In the beginning of the trip I would be very nervous, and now just trying to sensibly spend some free time.
Only for photos driver lowered his T-shirt. In the Philippines popular way to escape the heat. And the more a man’s stomach, the greater the chance that it will turn up sexy tank top. In China, where I’m traveling, too few are doing it.

Photobucket

Young people learn to manage Tricycle.

Photobucket

High jump on the cold streets of Banaue.

Photobucket

Basketball – the most popular game in the Philippines. Trainers can not buy everything, so play barefoot or in flip flops. Basketball courts, or at least one ring is in every village.
The first half of the XX century, the Philippines was a colony of the United States, the same as Puerto Rico or Hawaii. And here’s the result. Good English in the general population – is also a consequence of this bloody occupation.

Photobucket

Banaue Rice Terraces of the so-called eighth wonder of the world. They are 2,000 years old, listed in UNESCO.

Photobucket

My mother’s helper.

Photobucket

Homemade wooden scooter – what else does a street bosote?

Photobucket

Father cuts eldest son, the younger controls the process. The man red lips due to popular tonic in Asia betel nut chewing gum. In the Philippines, it is called a “moma”.

Photobucket

Drying of harvested rice. Actually I’m not strong in the technology of its production, so do not expect anything grand. It reminds me of the story of Mark Twain’s “How I edited the agricultural newspaper.”

Photobucket

Storming the jeepney, places get only the most clever and tenacious. Timid and shy left out.

Photobucket
Chess battles in the Manila city park.

Photobucket
Well, a very large Footlong.

I still planned series 5-6 with pictures Philippines.
And while I’m traveling around China. Who would have thought that there are so many people!
Even in China blocked Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. Excellent practice, there was so much free time.
